1981 Audi 100 GL 5S

We are delighted to offer for sale this rare example Audi 100. First registered on 15th October 1981 in Cardiff and ordered in "Copper Metallic" paint colour with a brown cloth interior. And fitted with Audi's legendary 2.1 5 cylinder (136hp) and mated to an automatic gearbox making the car a fantastic useable classic cruiser with a superbly smooth ride.

With just 110,000 miles on the clock the car certainly looks like it has been well taken care of in recent years. The car comes with some history, but we are told by the previous owner that the car was put through a light restoration in the late nineties and has not really done much mileage since then; which looking at the previous MOT certificates in the history file has covered a mere 5,000 miles in the last twenty years. Much of this time it has been stored in a garage, which would explain it's current condition after the light restoration.

Despite the lack of service records the car has clearly been taken care of throughout it's life. We have had the car inspected by our mechanic and has reported that it would require nothing to pass an MOT. We have fitted 4 new Falken tyres as a matter of precaution as the previous Dunlops were show signs of age. This car starts on the button every time, and is a real joy to drive. The car will come freshly serviced for it's new owner.

With over 1,000,000 of these Audi 100's made of this generation, there are very few left- especially not in this condition.

There is some room for improvement on the car, notable imperfections include; some light corrosion on the leading edge of the boot lid and a couple of very small patches of corrosion on the body of the car- all of which remain very solid. Mechanically it is superb.
