1961 Land Rover Series 2

An incredible piece of automotive history which everybody needs to try at least once!

We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely 1961 Series 2, which has been in the same family ownership since 1973, and owned by fastidious local motor engineers who have maintained it to a very high standard. A reluctant sale of a sentimental vehicle; but sadly, due to ill health, it is being offered for sale.

The Land R
over comes complete with it's original registration book, showing it's ownership throughout it's entire life.  In total it has had 7 owners (including it's current) and prior to this was owned by the registered keeper's father.  The Land Rover has spent all of it's life in and around the South Wales area.

This is a rare, low mileage example, with a mere 67,000 miles on the odometer from new.  It's 2.25 Litre petrol engine is faultless and runs beautifully- pulling well through each gear.  It has predominantly been used for display purposes at Classic Car Shows, where it has attracted much interest.  Having always been garaged, it presents in excellent all round condition, with a very solid bulkhead & chassis.

A very unique 'Tuckaway' crane was installed in the rear of the vehicle for recovery purposes in the 1970's but has seen very little use, and could be easily removed if required.

Also, for practicality, this Series 2 was installed with a Genuine Land Rover hardtop, due to the original canvas hood showing signs of wear.  However, this could be converted back to a canvas hood if desired.

If you are looking for a superb, useable Land Rover Series 2, you need not look any further.
